Learning English is important if you want to study at a British University. Not only will you need an IELTS score of at least 6.5 but you will find life as a student much easier if you have a good command of the English language.

St. Andrew’s offers pre-sessional English courses and IELTS training though our sister school, Select English. These courses are taught in the same locations and by some of the same teachers as St. Andrew’s.

Course starts every Monday and focus on general English and IELTS preparation.

Taught in small groups of students with a similar background and motivation, the Pre-MBA course will help you adapt to a new cultural and academic environment and provide you with the qualification you need to progress to post-graduate study.
Specialist help is provided to assist students in applying for their post-graduate course, either at one of our partner universities (Essex, Oxford Brookes, ARU and Winchester) or at the university of their choosing.

Art and Design

St. Andrew’s Art & Design Access Course is taught in very small groups and students are encouraged to experiment with different materials and explore their own field of interest.

Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures and have different objectives when choosing this course. Recent students have gone on to university to study subjects such as Fashion, Fine Art, Graphics, Illustration and design management.

There's a lot to do for St Andrew's students in Cambridge.

Cambridge is a young city with students from all over the world and plenty to get up to in your free time. Whether you want cinema, theatre. museums, clubs or pubs there is always something on. 

The Grand Arcade and Grafton centre are home to many shops and London is only 55 minutes away onthe train.

Student parties take place at Christmas and at the end of the academic year there is the May ball.

St Andrew's Halls of Residence provide secure and comfortable accommodation so you can study and make friends

There are 4 halls of Residence. all within walking distance of St Andrew's main Station Rd site. Each hall offers twin or single rooms and some have en-suite showers. All the rooms are small and friendly and have a residential warden who provides breakfast and dinner. Students are also able to prepare their own snacks in the common room.

There is a common room with a TV, DVD and a computer and there is also free wireless, broadband access.
