Accommodation
Residential Accommodation
St. Andrew’s owns four halls of residence in the centre of Cambridge where students live in single or twin rooms. Many rooms have an en-suite bathroom/shower. Each hall has a live-in house warden, who is responsible for the welfare of the students. They also prepare breakfast and dinner and do the weekly laundry. Halls have wireless broadband Internet and a common room where students can relax after class and prepare simple meals if they wish.
Home Stay Accommodation
Living with a local family provides the opportunity to experience British culture and practice your English. Host families provide breakfast and dinner for students every day. All accommodation is in single rooms with appropriate study facilities. Host families are carefully chosen by our Welfare & Accommodation Officer and many have looked after our students for years. Thorough background checks are carried out on families before students can stay with them.
Welfare and Medical Care
For students to make good academic progress they need to be both happy and healthy. St. Andrew’s has always paid great attention to the domestic life of each of our students. The Welfare & Accommodation Officer monitors all students carefully and keeps a watchful and sympathetic eye on their general welfare. All students register with the local doctor surgery where they can request appointments as required.
Diet
Accommodation is half-board. A healthy breakfast and dinner are provided daily. Halls of residence and home stay accommodation can provide for students with particular dietary requirements whether this is for religious or medical reasons.
