St Andrew's provides English lessons for all its students so they get a good IELTS score, learn vital skills for future studies at university and learn to live in Britain.

Learning English is important if you want to study at a British University. Not only will you need an IELTS score of at least 6.5 but you will find life as a student much easier if you have a good command of the English language.

St. Andrew’s offers pre-sessional English courses and IELTS training though our sister school, Select English. These courses are taught in the same locations and by some of the same teachers as St. Andrew’s.

Course starts every Monday and focus on general English and IELTS preparation.

Accommodation is available in host families and our halls of residence.

Students can choose between 20 and 25 hours per week.

Classes are small, with a maximum of 12 students, allowing plenty of opportunity to develop oral English as well as study the skills necessary for success on academic courses.

Select English teachers focus classes on preparing students for academic study, whether at St. Andrew’s or other UK institutions.
IELTS training is given to all St. Andrew’s students during their GCSEs, A-Levels and Foundation courses at no extra charge.
