GCSEs are the traditional route in to A Levels in the UK

GCSE Courses

GCSE stands for the General Certificate of Secondary Education. They are the traditional route into studying A Levels in the UK. Students typically study between 8 and 10 subjects over two years and sixth form colleges will require at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C for students to study A Levels.

The GCSE course at St Andrew’s College Cambridge is a fast track route into further study on an A Level or Foundation Course. The course at St Andrew’s is intensive. Students study 8 subjects over one year. With our help and their hard work and dedication, students will leave the college with 7 GCSEs. We offer small classes averaging just 4 students.

Students have weekly meetings with their personal tutor who’ll help guide them through their studies in the UK. Students on the GCSE course stay in one of our Halls of Residence and are looked after by one of our full-time, live in House Managers.
