Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Andrew’s College Cambridge – Academic Year 2025–2026

Since our founding in 1976, St Andrew’s College Cambridge has proudly welcomed students from around the world, offering the opportunity to experience a truly Cambridge education in one of the world’s most iconic academic cities.

Our programmes – One-Year GCSE, Pre A-Level, Pre IB, A-Level, and University Foundation Courses – are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in both their academic studies and their future university careers.

At the heart of everything we do is a clear and unwavering focus: student progress. Every student has the potential to thrive, and it is our duty as educators to provide the tools, guidance, and encouragement needed to help them realise their ambitions. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another year, I encourage you to approach this academic journey with a growth mindset – be ready to challenge yourself, step outside your comfort zone, and embrace every opportunity to learn and develop.

To our exceptional staff: I want to reiterate the vital importance of our role as educators. Teaching is not simply about delivering curriculum – it’s about inspiring, supporting, and transforming. Let us continue to approach each lesson with passion and purpose, seeking innovative ways to engage our students and nurture their love for learning. Your commitment and professionalism have a lasting impact on every student who walks through our doors.

Equally important is our responsibility to foster a strong sense of community and belonging. We understand that every student comes to us with a unique background and personal story. By creating a warm, inclusive, and understanding environment, we enable our students to feel safe, supported, and empowered – which in turn enables them to flourish academically and personally.

To our students: take full advantage of the opportunities before you. Communicate openly with your teachers, seek support when you need it, and don’t hesitate to get involved beyond the classroom – whether through clubs, enrichment activities, or simply forming new friendships. Academic success is just one part of your growth; equally important is the development of your character, confidence, and resilience.

Our mission is to help every student realise their full potential by providing a nurturing, caring, and academically rigorous environment. We are proud of our strong track record in helping students secure places at top universities – including those in the G5 and Russell Group – and we are committed to helping each of you find the right course and university pathway aligned with your goals.

As Principal of St Andrew’s since 2007, I bring my experience and dedication to every aspect of college life – particularly in supporting students through the UCAS university application process, one of the most important steps in your academic journey. My goal is to ensure each student progresses to a university and degree that reflects their interests, strengths, and long-term aspirations.

I look forward to welcoming you to our college and to another successful and enriching academic year in the inspiring city of Cambridge.

Warm regards,
Wayne Marshall
