One year GCSE

St Andrew’s offers students a one-year GCSE course as an alternative to the traditional two-year GCSE course.  A fast-track route to A-levels, students at St Andrew’s take six GCSEs starting either in September or January of each year.  English and Maths are compulsory with students taking four subjects of their choice from the following:

  • Art & Design
  • Biology
  • Business Studies
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Economics
  • Geography
  • Latin
  • Music
  • Native Language
  • Physics
  • Photography
  • Physical Education

All students are given daily tutor sessions plus four hours of maths and 12 hours of English each week including English for Academic Purposes.
