FAQs

Which course is right for me at St Andrew's?

The right course depends on your age, your current academic level, your English level and your university ambition. As a starting point: 15-year-olds typically begin with one-year GCSE; 16-year-olds with strong English go straight into A-Level; 16-year-olds needing English uplift start with Pre A-Level; international students aiming for a fast route to UK university often choose the University Foundation Course; and students wanting to try before they commit start with the One Term Taster Course.

What is the difference between A Levels and the University Foundation Course?

A Levels are the standard UK qualification taken over two years and recognised by every UK university. The University Foundation Course is a one-year programme designed specifically for international students, with a more focused subject mix and pathway-led progression. A Levels are broader; the Foundation Course is faster. Both lead to top UK universities.

How big are classes at St Andrew's?

Average class size is 8 students. Some subjects run with as few as 3 or 4, which is unusual even for private sixth forms in Cambridge.
