Quality of Teaching and Personal Development

The report confirms that teachers at St Andrew’s plan and adapt lessons to meet learners’ needs, helping them build knowledge, confidence, and independence. Pupils benefit from regular assessment and feedback, which supports ongoing progress across subjects.

Inspectors also noted that students demonstrate positive engagement in lessons, benefiting from enrichment activities, co-curricular programmes, and a curriculum that promotes respect, tolerance, and cultural understanding. These experiences broaden students’ horizons and develop their confidence, resilience, and social awareness.

Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

Boarding provision, pastoral systems, and welfare support are described as well organised and effective. Boarders settle quickly with carefully planned induction, clear routines, and positive relationships with house staff. The college environment supports students’ academic, social, and personal growth and helps them feel safe and included.

Behaviour during lessons and around the college was found to be consistently positive, and medical and welfare arrangements were reported as well maintained.

Safeguarding and Compliance

The inspection concluded that all relevant standards for safeguarding, leadership and management, education quality, pupil health and emotional wellbeing, and social and economic development are met. St Andrew’s continues to prioritise robust safeguarding practices and thorough health and safety systems across all areas of campus life.
