Outstanding grades, a 100% A* rate in Art and Photography, and four years of continued improvement mark a successful year for the College.
St Andrew’s College Cambridge is celebrating an outstanding set of A-Level results, with students achieving some of their strongest grades to date and the College continuing a four-year trend of significant academic improvement.
The 2026 results saw 40% of all grades awarded at A*–A and 62% at A*–B, while 80% of grades were A*–C. The overall pass rate reached an impressive 98%.
Among the individual successes, one student achieved an exceptional 3 A* grades, while another achieved 2 A* grades and 2 A grades.
The results also saw particularly impressive performances in Art and Photography, where 100% of grades awarded were an A*.
The achievement highlights the strength of the students’ work in these subjects, as well as the dedication of the teachers who have supported them throughout their A-Level studies.
A Clear Upward Trend
This year’s results form part of a sustained improvement in academic performance at St Andrew’s College Cambridge over the past four years.
Since 2023, the proportion of A*–A grades has more than doubled, rising from 19% to 40%. The proportion of A*–B grades has also increased significantly, from 45% to 62% over the same period.
The figures show consistent year-on-year progression:

The overall pass rate has followed the same positive trajectory, increasing from 90% in 2023 to 98% this year.
Together, the figures highlight the continued progress in both the number of students achieving the highest grades and the overall academic outcomes across the College.
Celebrating Achievement Across the College
Whilst the headline grades are a significant achievement, the 2026 results represent success across the student cohort, with students making progress from a wide range of starting points.
For some, this has meant achieving the very highest A* grades. For others, success has come through making substantial academic progress during their time at St Andrew’s and achieving results that open the door to their next steps into higher education.
With students now preparing to progress to top universities in the UK and internationally, the A-Level results mark an important milestone for the 2026 cohort.
