Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Andrew’s College Cambridge.  Since 1976, St Andrew’s College has offered students from all over the world the opportunity to experience a Cambridge Education. We offer 1 Year GCSE, Pre A-Level, A-Level and University Foundation courses.

First and foremost, I want to emphasize that our primary goal is student progress. Each and every one of you has the potential to grow and excel, and it is our duty as educators to provide you with the tools and support necessary to achieve your goals. Whether you are a returning student or a newcomer to our college, I encourage you to approach the year with a growth mindset and a determination to push your boundaries.

To our staff, I want to emphasise the importance of teaching and learning. As educators, our role extends beyond simply imparting knowledge. We have the power to inspire, motivate, and shape the minds of our students. Let us approach our work with passion and dedication, constantly seeking innovative ways to engage our students and foster their love for learning. Remember, it is through our commitment to teaching that we can truly make a difference in their lives.

However, I also want to emphasise the significance of family. We understand that each student comes from a unique background and has their own set of challenges and responsibilities outside of the classroom. It is crucial for us to acknowledge and respect these factors, as they can greatly impact a student’s ability to thrive academically. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, we can create a sense of belonging and understanding that will enable our students to flourish.

To our students, I encourage you to communicate openly with your teachers and seek their guidance whenever needed. We are here to support you, not only academically but also emotionally. Remember, your success is not solely determined by your grades, but by your personal growth and development as well. Take advantage of the resources available to you, engage in extracurricular activities, and build connections with your peers. Together, we can create a vibrant and nurturing community.

It is our aim to help students to reach their full potential by offering an environment that makes them feel comfortable, relaxed and cared for. It is our belief that this will help them to achieve excellent academic results with the support of our dedicated and experienced staff.

As principal of St Andrew’s since 2007, I use my professional expertise and experience to drive and inspire our students and enjoy helping students to navigate the complex UCAS university application process. It is important that all our students progress to the best university and degree programme possible which suits both their interests and abilities and will lead them towards their desired career.

I look forward to welcoming you at our very special college in this unique city.
